The Calhoun County Building Inspector, also serving as the Subdivision Officer and Planning and Development Officer, is dedicated to steering responsible land use administration in Calhoun County through the meticulous enforcement of four key ordinances. Our mission is to safeguard the well-being of the community and its environment by overseeing the administration of the Calhoun County Flood Plain Ordinance, Mobile Home Trailer Park Ordinance, Zoning Ordinance of 1971, and Subdivision Ordinance. Through collaboration, inspections, and transparent communication, we aim to ensure compliance with regulations, foster sustainable development, and contribute to the overall resilience and harmony of the county.

Documentation and Records Management
Maintain accurate and organized records for public inspection, including certificates of occupancy, flood data, SFHA maps, and records of construction authorizations, elevations, and floodproofing for buildings constructed under the Flood Plain Ordinance.
Cooperation with Authorities
Cooperate with state and federal agencies, including floodplain management authorities, to enhance data accuracy, base floodplain management, and overall ordinance administration.
Community Notification
Notify relevant stakeholders, including sub dividers, in a timely manner, providing written results of inspections, completion notification.
