Duties of Department

The Calhoun County Health Department is a local government agency that carries out the core functions of Public Health. Established in 1966, Calhoun County Health Department is committed to and responsible for assuring quality Public Health and Home Health services to the citizens of Calhoun County. Our goal is the promotion of wellness and protection of our community. Attainment of this goal is accomplished through successful alliances with health professionals, health care facilities, schools, local and state officials, and our community partners. We offer a variety of services, including Home Health and Health Support, WIC and Family Health, Food Safety, Environmental Programs, Emergency Preparedness, Immunizations, Communicable Disease, Smoke Free Illinois, and various screening programs.
