Mission Statement
The Weed Inspector role operates under the Illinois Noxious Weed Law [AGRICULTURE (505 ILCS 100/) Illinois Noxious Weed Law.] with the purpose of enforcing the Illinois noxious weed law and reducing and/or eliminating noxious weeds in Calhoun County.

- Marijuana (Cannabis sativa L.)
- Giant Ragweed (Ambrosia trifida L.) – Noxious within the corporate limits of cities, villages, and incorporated towns
- Common Ragweed (Ambrosia atremisiifolic L.) – Noxious within the corporate limits of cities, villages, and incorporated towns
- Canada Thistle (Cirsium arvense)
- Perennial Sow Thistle (Sonchus arvensis)
- Musk Thistle (Carduus nutans)
- Perennial members of the sorghum genus including Johnson-grass (Sorghum halepense), Sorghum almun, and other Johnson-grass × sorghum crosses with rhizomes
- Kudzu (Pueraria labata)
